ENROLMENT POLICIES & CLASS INFORMATION
Choosing a Class
The age recommendations outlined for Kindermusik classes have been carefully constructed to best group children in an age and developmentally appropriate way. Therefore, it is important that your child be at least the minimum age by the start of the semester for the class in which you are enrolling. If you have any concerns about your child’s success in a particular age range, I am happy to discuss your child’s needs and to work with you to place him in the class best suited for him.
Free visits
At certain times throughout each session, I am happy to schedule a free visit in one of my classes. Please call for availability.
Register Early
Although you may join our classes at any time, please register early since class sizes are limited and many fill quickly. Registering at least three weeks before the semester begins also ensures that I will have your child’s materials for you at your first class. If you enrol after the semester begins, tuition can be pro-rated accordingly.
Discounts
If I receive your paperwork and payment at least 3 weeks prior to the start of the term you will then get a discount of $20 off your fees total for that term.
Enrolment Confirmation
A registration form and payment must be received before enrolment can be confirmed. You will receive a phone call, email or mailed notice within 2 weeks to confirm your registration.
Cancellation Policy
Deposits for a new semester are non-refundable but can be credited to future kindermusik lessons in extreme circumstances. If a student withdraws before the program starts, a non- refundable administration fee of $35 will be withheld. Materials paid for and received by the student cannot be refunded once classes have started. Lessons fees will not be refunded after the term begins unless a new student can be found to fill the space. Tuition refunds or credit vouchers may be given if there are extenuating circumstances requiring withdrawal from class. All refund requests will be considered on an individual basis. The cost of materials and a $10 processing fee are non-refundable. Classes cancelled by the teacher due to insufficient enrolment will be fully refunded, made up or credited.
Payment Policy
Payment made via credit card through paypal or electronic transfer will be accepted. Please email me your receipt of payment as well as the enrolment form otherwise enrolment forms can be brought to the first class.
Sick Children
If children are too sick to go to school or daycare, they are too sick for Kindermusik. It is important the children with contagious conditions, such as chicken pox, are kept outside the classroom. Please be advised that if they come to class they may be sent home if they are too ill.
Make-up Classes
Classes will be made up in the event of teacher illness or inclement weather. I will notify you of the cancellation and the scheduled make-up day.
In the event you miss a class, you are invited to attend a makeup class which will be held during the last week of term. You will be notified of the date closer to the time.
Non-Enrolled Siblings
Due to limited class sizes and the delicacy of the younger class settings, Village and Our time classes can only accommodate non-enrolled siblings when the sibling is young enough to stay contented in a car carrier or stroller. Emergency exceptions are considered.
Making the Most of Kindermusik Classes
Plan to arrive about 5-10 minutes early for class. Arriving a little before class provides time for your child to settle in to the musical environment as they prepare to enjoy exploring instruments, reading books, or listening to music. We do request that toys, juice cups, and pacifiers be kept out of sight, and that snacks be finished prior to class. Be sure to dress comfortably.
During class, the most important thing you can do for your child is to be an active and patient role model. It is not uncommon for a child to attend several classes before feeling comfortable in class. Don’t be discouraged- what a child is absorbing in class is often evidenced in the comfort of the home environment rather than in a certain participation in class. The understanding and consistency of the parent or caregiver in class and at home are key to facilitating musical learning and growth.
When you are an active, focused, enthusiastic participant in the class activities, your child will model your actions and focus more fully too.
You and your child will enormously benefit from the Kindermusik Experience, especially if you make active use of your At Home Materials. Frequent reinforcement at home throughout the week make all the difference in a child’s comfort and participation in the classroom.
Parking
There is plenty of parking on site at the hall.
Prams
You are able to bring prams if needed but please leave them outside the hall on the covered deck for 0H & S reasons.
Shoes
Please wear shoes that are easy to take off (both you and your bub) as shoes are left at the door. The reason for this is that lessons are conducted with bare feet. We aim to have a nice, warm room at all times. Please bring non slip socks in Winter (there are socks you can buy which are non slip).
Food & Drink
Please ensure all snacks/ drinks are consumed before class and no food or drink brought inside the hall. The hall has a fridge for your use if you want to keep something chilled for after the class.
Please do not hesitate to call me if you have any concerns.
~ Most of all be ready to laugh, learn, play… the pixie way!! ~
