ABOUT YOUR TEACHER : JOANNA

I have been playing the piano since I could reach the keys (as my father fondly remembers!), starting formal lessons at 5 years of age. I achieved piano AMEB qualifications to 8th grade level at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music High School. After that I reached A.Mus level at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where I completed a Bachelor of Music Studies (studying both piano and composition).

Throughout my musical life I have sung in school choirs, sung and played piano in musicals, and played the piano in various eisteddfords both in Sydney and in St Petersburg, Russia.

I have been taught by well known, respected professional teachers and concert pianists including Mira Yevtich, Nikolai Evrov, Stephanie McCallum (who performs at the Sydney Opera House among other venues) and Marina Volf (Marina is a prominent concert pianist based at the St Petersburg Conservatorium of Music, Russia). In 1995 I spent 6 months studying with Marina in Russia.

I have been teaching piano and preparing students for AMEB exams for over 16 years. I have also worked as the Exams Scheduling Supervisor at the AMEB and as a marketing assistant in the entertainment industry.

After the birth of my child, I decided to pursue a full time career in teaching Kindermusik and Piano. Music is a special part of my life and I want to share that passion as I honestly feel that everybody has musical ability, and that each one of us can gain something (or everything!) from music in our lives!

We are committed to excellence in teaching and service at our studio. As a licenced Educator, the Pixie Piano director and educator keeps up to date with the latest research & teaching methods, and attends Kindermusik Conferences and tutorials in order to offer you the best music program possible.

Thus we offer you our guarantee that, if at six weeks of complete attendance with regular use of your home materials (and after consultation and discussion with the director), your satisfaction with Kindermusik is not what we all expected… we will refund the balance of your tuition costs (less $20 administration processing fee and the cost of the Home Materials - which are yours to keep and enjoy). Pro-rated tuition refunds are also given in case of withdrawal due to exceptional circumstances (after consulting with the director of the studio).
