WHAT IS MUSIC THEORY AND MUSICIANSHIP?
Ever wanted to learn to read music or wondered what musical terms mean? Both Theory and Musicianship lessons are offered at Pixie Piano studio.
Some people may ask why learning music theory is important. The main two reasons are that you will be a better performer (as you will learn the musical language) and
you will have more options as a musician. It makes sense that knowing how music is constructed will only benefit you as a musician. It is a bit like learning to read the alphabet and basic grammar to help with reading and writing!

Music Theory involves the study of notation: the staff, clefs, note names, rhythms, rests, intervals, meter and time signatures, key signatures, and dynamics. Lessons also involve learning about scales and chords (harmony), melody, phrases and musical forms.
NB. (Musicianship lessons are similar to theory lessons but also incorporate
aural training, eg, learning to memorise melodies and songs etc) |

Lessons are offered from Preliminary to Grade 8, for preparation of AMEB examinations, school music examinations, and general interest. Whether you are preparing for a written AMEB examination or are just wanting to make sense of musical symbols, Pixie Piano will help you to achieve your goals and give you a better understanding of music. |

Lessons are offered one-on-one at the studio, but group classes can be arranged on request.
For best results, weekly classes are recommended. Less frequent classes can be arranged. |
